First time builder here. Building the Herreshoff Dinghy, 11 1/2 foot, lapstrake. I'm currently working on lining off the boat. To do this I used the plank width ratios and diminishing method specified in Barry Thomas' "Building the Herreshoff Dinghy" (basically the same diminishing method in Rossel's "Building Small Boats"). I am hours into building a Herreshoff yacht tender that I started in July and I'm finally starting a building thread. You may have seen me around here asking one off questions, but it's high time I shared a bit more. Plus, at this point I have too many questions to not get over my intimidation of posting a building thread here. Let's get started. The only info I have on Herreshoff's method are the "How-to-books" for the Haven and Herreshoff Dinghy. Neither of which, even mention this slope. Although, you can see it in Joel's White's construction plan for the Haven 12 1/2.
